city break in valetta

For a City Break – Stay in Valletta

The compact city of Valletta is the capital of Malta. It’s an ideal city break for a few nights away. A historic warren of streets that doesn’t feel too touristy, Valletta is a great year-round city break destination. It’s full of history and striking Baroque architecture.  It offers a wide variety of accommodation options from luxury to budget and a wide variety of things to see and do with plenty of heritage and museums to visit. You can also get great deals in the off-season.

St. Paul's Bay holiday

For a Family Holiday – Head to Bugibba, Qawra and St. Paul’s Bay

These 3 resort towns, right next to each other along a northern-facing coast of the island are ideal for families taking a trip to Malta.

These family-friendly resorts are packed with activity and feature strong transport links to holiday hotspots around the island like Valletta and the ancient city of Mdina. It’s easy to catch a boat to Comino and Gozo from here too.

There’s also several great beaches nearby – the manmade sandy beach at Bugibba, the beach at Qawra and smaller beaches in St. Paul’s Bay.

beach holiday in mellieha

For a Beach Holiday – Stay in Mellieha

This is one of the most popular resorts on the Northern end of the main island of Malta, divided between the tourist-ready resorts and the more traditional village of Mellieha where the local life can still be seen.

Most of the beaches in Malta are of the striking, rocky-outcrop variety but the ones near Mellieha, particularly Mellieha Bay, are big and sandy. Also see Ghajn Tuffieha and Golden Bay, two spectacular beaches nearby.

holiday in sliema

For a Romantic Break – Try Sliema

What was once a small fishing village has grown into one of the island’s most bustling areas home to many locals and welcoming to visitors. Sliema is a great choice for a couple’s getaway to Malta. It has plenty of local character and a walk along the 10km promenade is simply stunning.

St. Julian's

For a Trip with Friends – head to St. Julian’s/Paceville

These two modern towns are next to each other, and together form the heart of the island’s nightlife, making this is a great destination for a group holiday to Malta. In particular, Paceville offers a wide variety of dining options, bars and clubs.

Stay in Gozo

For Something Different – Stay in Gozo

Gozo is the second-largest of the three islands that make up the nation of Malta. Gozo offers a getaway that’s much quieter and more local in flavour than a holiday on the main island.

The island offers a range of untouched beaches, sleepy villages and the main town of Victoria. You can choose from a wide range of accommodation from 5-star luxury to affordable hotels.
