Our cruise holiday expert Dawn is on board the NCL Jade, specially invited by one of our favourite cruise providers Norwegian Cruise Line to experience this stunning recently refurbished ocean liner for herself. She's been sending us some great updates from on board and since we love to share our own holiday experience with you the customer, we thought we'd share them here. Don't forget to check back in!
We've been continuing to explore the NCL Jade and see everything it has to offer! We toured all of its many amenities and things to see and do. We enjoyed a talk in the fantastic theatre about all the measures NCL is taking to keep its passengers COVID-safe and stopped by the onboard shop to check out the souvenirs and more.
Our Airport Experience...
Now that travel is opening back up again, lots of people have questions about what it’s like at the airport. Before flying you are asked to fill out a passenger locator form, and you have to present this alongside your Digital COVID Cert. I flew with Ryanair who are using a cashless system so card only, and masks must be worn the whole flight. On the ground, security felt normal with small queues and dividers in between each bag station for social distancing. The Duty Free was open for shopping, and so were some restaurants.
When we arrived into Greece before passport control we had to present our Digital COVID Cert again (if you don’t have one of these you could give them proof of a negative test result). They were conducting some random COVID testing.
When flying back into Ireland you need an Irish passenger locator form filled in before arriving back into the country.
Meanwhile, life on board the NCL Jade is good. Here's a few shots of their delicious buffet areas and play area.
We also paid a visit to the stunning spa on board:
First Impressions!
As we boarded the ship, we got a great impression of the measures that Norwegian Cruise Line is taking to keep passengers safe and healthy. Our temperatures were taken and we also had to have an antigen test, waiting 10 minutes for the results. We also presented our proof of vaccine (at least 2 weeks prior to boarding). It was totally hassle-free and really reassuring.
On board NCL Jade, there’s about 2400 passengers. Right now, it’s only taking 80% capacity.
The ship recently completed its refurbishment in 2019 so it all looks stunning and new as you can see in my pictures!
There are 16 dining options on board and many bars to choose from with different entertainment on offer. The theatre has a different show every night. You can take a dip in the swimming pools with Jacuzzi, and kids can enjoy their very own Play Centre!
